Genozip Research is a license designed for university research labs (a single license covers all staff and students of the lab), and Genozip Student is a peronsal license designed for university students (usually advanced degree students, but all students are welcome).

Eligibility

​​

Genozip Research and Genozip Student have the similar eligibility criteria:

​​

1. Institution: Your organization must a university (i.e. a degree-granting higher education institution) that is not a hospital (i.e. does not provide clinical services to external patients).

2. No Commercial Data (please read carefully, what we consider commercial might be unusual):

  A. Not service-related data: The data was not obtained and will not be used in the context of any kind of service for which you or your institution get paid  (including via a fee, salary, grant or government funding). Examples of services include: sequencing, bioinformatics, diagnostic, clinical, research-on-contract, IT, product development, inspection, biobanks and other dataset aggregations for (free or paid) consumption by external users.

  B. Not product development data: The data was not used and will not be used in the development process of a product or service.

 

​​3. (Genozip Student only): You are an enrolled university student (student ID required).

If your institution is not a university, or is a university but is also a hospital, or the data to be compressed is commercial according to the definition above, then the appropriate license would be an Enterprise, Biobank or Premium license. Please contact sales@genozip.com for more information.
